Big laughs are coming to the great outdoors! John Mulaney is headlining the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival on Sunday, August 30, joined by Mike Birbiglia, Jordan Jensen, and Langston Kerman!

John Mulaney

John Mulaney is an acclaimed American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and producer widely regarded as one of the most influential comedic voices of his generation. Known for his sharp, observational humor, affable stage presence, and distinctive, slightly old-fashioned delivery, Mulaney often draws on personal anecdotes about his childhood, social awkwardness, and pop culture.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 26, 1982, Mulaney attended Georgetown University, where he joined the university's improv group. After graduating, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. His breakthrough came in 2008 when he was hired as a writer on Saturday Night Live. During his four seasons with the show, he made significant contributions and was a co-creator of the popular recurring character Stefon, played by Bill Hader. Mulaney won a Primetime Emmy Award for his writing on SNL.

While writing for television, Mulaney continued to build his stand-up career. He released a series of highly successful and critically acclaimed specials that cemented his reputation as a master of the form: New in Town (2012), The Comeback Kid (2015), and Kid Gorgeous at Radio City (2018). For Kid Gorgeous, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.

Beyond stand-up, Mulaney has been involved in numerous other projects. He co-created and starred in the Broadway show Oh, Hello on Broadway with Nick Kroll, and he is a co-creator and voice actor on the popular animated Netflix series Big Mouth. In 2019, he released the Emmy-nominated children's musical comedy special John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch.

In recent years, Mulaney has been open about his struggles with addiction, which became the central focus of his 2023 comeback special, Baby J. The raw and unflinching performance detailed his intervention and time in rehabilitation, earning him another Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special and widespread praise for its honesty and humor.

Mike Birbiglia

Mike Birbiglia is an American comedian, storyteller, director, and actor celebrated for his distinctive style of comedic storytelling. He is known for weaving deeply personal, often poignant, narratives with observational humor, creating a form of stand-up that blurs the line between comedy and one-man theater.

Born on June 20, 1978, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Birbiglia began his comedy career after graduating from Georgetown University. He gained significant recognition with his off-Broadway show and subsequent feature film, Sleepwalk with Me. In this work, he candidly explores his real-life struggles with REM sleep behavior disorder, a condition that causes him to physically act out his dreams. The film, which he directed, wrote, and starred in, won the NEXT Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012.

Jordan Jensen

Jordan Jensen is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcast host known for her raw, fearless, and deeply personal style of storytelling. Her comedy often pulls from her unconventional upbringing and varied life experiences, which she shares with filterless honesty.

Born in Ithaca, New York, Jensen had a unique background that frequently informs her material. Before pursuing comedy, she earned a philosophy degree and worked a series of manual labor jobs, including as a farmer, carnival worker, and carpenter, even starting her own carpentry business.

She began her stand-up career in upstate New York before relocating to Nashville for a year, where she toured the southern United States in her pickup truck. She eventually moved to New York City, becoming a regular performer at the renowned Comedy Cellar.

Jensen's career gained significant momentum when she became the first female comic to win “New York’s Funniest Stand Up” at the New York Comedy Festival in 2021. She was also selected as a “New Face” at the prestigious Just for Laughs festival in 2019.

Langston Kerman

Langston Kerman is an American comedian, actor, and writer known for his versatile talents across stand-up, television, and film. His work often blends sharp observational humor with personal storytelling.

Originally from Oak Park, Illinois, Kerman's background is in writing and education. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Michigan and an MFA in creative writing from Boston University, with a focus on poetry. Before committing to comedy full-time, he taught poetry at his former high school.

Kerman's career gained significant momentum after he was chosen by Chris Rock to be a writer for the 2016 Academy Awards. That same year, he landed a recurring role as Jered on Issa Rae's acclaimed HBO series Insecure, which brought him wider recognition. He has since appeared in numerous television shows, including The Boys, Bless This Mess, and High Maintenance.

As a writer and actor, Kerman has been a key contributor to the comedy series South Side. He also co-created, co-wrote, and starred in the Peacock series Bust Down. In addition, he is the head writer for HBO's PAUSE with Sam Jay, which earned a WGA award nomination
