Boney M is one of the biggest groups to stand out in the 70s and 80s fanatical disco-era and truly make their mark. Their sound – a mix of reggae, disco, funk, gospel, soul and rock – gained popularity instantaneously with major hits like “Daddy Cool”, “Ma Baker” and “Rasputin”. Liz Mitchell, the original lead singer of Boney M, is a Jamaican-born British singer best known for her disco and reggae style that became a distinctive part of Boney M’s sound. After the band split in 1986, Liz went on one more tour in 1987 and then went on to release many great solo albums. Beginning in 2004, she began touring with the group as Boney M. featuring Liz Mitchell, bringing their sound to big crowds all over the world.
