XL 103 Payroll Payout (the ‘Contest’)

XL 103 Payroll Payout Rules

1. CONTEST PERIOD: February 25th - May 24th 2019 at 7pm MST

2. ELIGIBILITY: The ‘Contest’ is open to all residents of Alberta, who are 18 years of age or older (age of majority), excluding employees of XL 103, Newcap Inc. (‘Newcap’), Newcap’s direct and indirect parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, Newcap’s advertising and promotional agencies, participating sponsors and any persons residing in their respective households. XL 103 and Newcap Inc. are hereafter collectively referred to as XL 103.

3. HOW TO ENTER: Register on line at www.xl103calgary.com, to be considered an official entrant all fields of the on-line submission form must be completed accurately. Listen to XL 103 weekdays at 9am, 1pm, & 5pm during the ‘Contest Period’. When a registered name is announced on air as a new applicant, the named person must call the station (403-736-1031) within the first ten minutes to become a ‘Qualifier’.

4. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY: No purchase is required to enter an XL 103 Contest.

5. PRIZE: Official Qualifiers will be awarded $50 an hour for every hour they remain on ‘The XL 103 Payroll Payout’ as an ‘Employee’. XL 103 will announce one registered applicant name weekdays at 9am, 1pm, & 5pm, if the named applicant calls the station within the allotted time frame, they become the new ‘employee’ on “The XL 103 Payroll Payout” and the previous contestant will be ‘terminated’ and removed from the “XL 103 Payroll Payout”. The official qualifier will remain on the XL 103 Payroll Payout until the next registered applicant that has their name called, calls back in the allotted time frame.

There is an additional prize for the very first person to get on the Spring 2019 version of the XL 103 Payroll Payout of $2,500 as a signing bonus.

6. PUBLICITY: By entering the Contest, you consent to XL 103 to use of your name, city of residence, photograph, voice, statement and image for any publicity purposes.

7. THE DECISIONS OF THE CONTEST JUDGES ARE FINAL. In the event of a conflict between the rules and any instructions or interpretation of these rules given by XL 103 employees regarding the Contest, these rules shall prevail.

8. Newcap Radio reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to amend, cancel, close, suspend or reinstate the Contest at any time and for any reason whatsoever.

9. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees to abide by these Contest rules, which are subject to change without notice to Contest entrants individually, and each entrant releases Newcap Radio, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents and advertising and promotional agencies, from any damage, loss or liability suffered as a result of or arising from the Qualifiers’ participation in the Contest.

10. Conditions/Restrictions. The Station is not responsible for errors, problems or delays in the mail, telephone or online web systems that may prevent listeners from participating In the Contest. Participants can call the Station main line (403 271 6366) if they have any questions in relation to the Contest. Decisions of the Station judges are final.

11. Release and Indemnification. In exchange for the right to participate in the Contest, each participant agrees to release and indemnify the Station, Newcap Radio and its officers, directors, agents, parent companies, subsidiaries and employees (the "Released Parties"), from any and all claims, demands and/or causes of action of any nature or kind whatsoever, whether presently known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen, that arise out of the participant's participation in the Contest.

12. Rules. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. By entering, each participant agrees to abide by these rules and regulations and the decisions of the Station judges which are final with respect to all aspects of the contest. Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification. Copies of these rules are available on the Station's website (www.xl103calgary.com) under the Contest listing, in person at the Station's studios (Suite 100, 1110 Centre Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 2R2) during regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 12:30pm – 5:00pm), or by sending a request, along with a self-addressed stamped envelope, to the Station at this address.

General Contest Rules

No purchase necessary. Only one entry per person, per week. XL 103 fm contests are open to residents of Alberta, eighteen (18) years of age or older, excluding residents who cannot pick up 103.1FM on a tuner radio and those who are employees, or co-habitants of employees, agents or immediate family members of XL 103 fm, Newcap Broadcasting Inc. (“Newcap”), Promoter and their respective advertising and promotional agencies. Some contests may require you to have a valid photo ID.

The decision of the contest judges is final. The prize package must be accepted as awarded. No portion of the prize is transferable. The prize is not redeemable for cash and no substitute for any portion of the prize is offered. No telephone contact or other correspondence will be entered into except with the winning entrant(s). The winner has thirty (30) days (unless otherwise instructed by XL 103 fm) from the time the prize is available to pick up the prize, failing which the prize may be forfeited.

All winners of any prize with a retail value in excess of $500.00 will be required to answer a mathematical skill testing question. To be declared a winner the Participant must correctly answer the following multi-step mathematical question:

Step 1: 103 + 618 =
Step 2: Take the answer from Step 1 x 7 =
Step 3: Take the answer from Step 2 – 515 =
Step 4: Take the answer from Step 3 ÷ 44 =

Minor prizes (under $500 retail value) can only be won once every 30 days

Major prizes (over $500 retail value) can only be won once every 90 days

Any ground transportation, all meals and/all extraordinary expenses, including but not limited to beverages, not expressly listed as part of the contest prize shall be the sole financial responsibility of the prize winner, and the prize winner shall not seek reimbursement for same from XL 103 fm, Newcap, the Promoter, their agents and/or suppliers of the service.

By entering a contest, the entrant confirms that he/she has read and understood these contest rules and regulations, and that the prize winners agree that they will sign a standard form releasing XL 103 fm, Newcap, the Promoter, Sponsors their agents and/or suppliers of service, and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, directors, officers, employees, agents and their respective advertising and promotional agencies (collectively “Releasees”), from any and all liability arising in connection with this contest, including without limitation, liability arising from the acceptance of the Prize (s) as awarded and confirming compliance with contest rules.

All entries shall become the property of XL 103 fm, Newcap, and the Promoters. Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure or technical malfunction of the telephone lines, electronic mail, websites during the contest period. Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are mechanically reproduced, falsified, fraudulent, altered or tampered with in any way. In the event of “enter to win” contesting XL 103 fm is not responsible for illegible handwriting, lost or mutilated ballots and/or incomplete ballots. All entrants agree to abide by the Contest Rules, which are final.

By entering the contest, each entrant, and particularly the prize winner consents to the use of his/her name, city of residence, photograph, voice and/or image for any publicity and programming purposes, commercial or otherwise, in all media used by XL 103 fm, Newcap, the Promoter, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies, without any payment or compensation. Prizewinner agrees to sign a waiver and release to this effect and further agrees that his / her audio reaction may be used for on-air promotional purposes.

XL 103 fm, Newcap, and the Promoter reserve the right to substitute prizes, including the aircraft, airline, hotel, destination and any component of the prize for those of approximately the same retail value and reserve the right to terminate or withdraw this contest at any time, without prior notice. Releasees are not responsible for any damage, loss, inconvenience or injury suffered by the participant or prize winners due to any changes, substitution, rescheduling, or for any reason whatsoever.

This contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations of Canada and Alberta respectively.

Apple is not a sponsor and is not involved in any way in the XL103 contests posted on our website and mobile app.
